SWWIM sustains and celebrates women poets by connecting creatives across generations and by curating a living archive of contemporary poetry, while solidifying Miami as a nexus for the literary arts.

The Years

when I turn the card over I
am passing blurry sheep
along the Autobahn the sun

blinding my eyes with silver
sheen the pavement ahead
seems matter of fact and dry

disarray a long documentary
no decorations no earrings on
small ears no sweet rainbow

lifesavers no snow no vixen in blue
berry patches no
holly prickles no upright

piano for books of etudes
to practice to someday play
the Italian Concerto wrapped

in brown paper there are
dolls with hair washed with
toothpaste and ruined I crawl

under the coffee table to be
in the dark to find something
restless find warmth find

kisses on my many faces I
imagined on my way to
Wilhelmshaven on the way—
there to the cold Black Sea
