Janette Schafer is a freelance writer, commercial banker, and musician living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a 2017 awardee of the Maenad Fellowship in creative writing through Chatham University and a 2015 awardee of the Arts MODE Fellowship in experimental theater through New Sun Rising LLC.  She holds a BFA in Professional Writing from Carlow University. Recent and upcoming publications include: (b)oink Magazine; Nasty Women & Bad Hombres Anthology; Chatham University broadsides; PublicSource; Calamus Journal. When not working on her writing, music, or for the bank, she is a comedienne and improv artist with The Amish Monkeys, Pittsburgh's oldest improv troupe.
