SWWIM sustains and celebrates women poets by connecting creatives across generations and by curating a living archive of contemporary poetry, while solidifying Miami as a nexus for the literary arts.

Fuoco by Hilary Sideris

Every day

my love burns

down the house

almost, la moka

on the stove, then

off for a walk

or soccer match.

If I accuse him,

he admits I’m right,

why fight about

a fire not burning

anymore or yet.

Hilary Sideris spent her childhood in a ranch-style house on the edge of a trailer park. She is the author of  Most Likely to Die (Poets Wear Prada 2014) and The Inclination to Make Waves (Big Wonderful 2016). Sideris lives in Brooklyn and works as a professional developer and curriculum writer for The City University of New York's CUNY Start program.
