SWWIM sustains and celebrates women poets by connecting creatives across generations and by curating a living archive of contemporary poetry, while solidifying Miami as a nexus for the literary arts.

One Bird, Two Birds by Sanjana Nair

there were two birds

the dapper jay, the early robin

you were blue

I, fire-breasted

the day went haywire

I should have flown

you, loud with need

keeping me with the worms

the ground is not warm

this frosty, winter morning

the dirt

all I know
